Writing reflection on a phone

A phone is not ideal for long essays. It is good for short, honest notes that you can write in the moment.

One sentence is enough

On mobile, long writing quickly becomes tiring. A single sentence per card is enough: the event, one feeling, one assumption, and one action.

Put important actions within reach

Phone design is not just about looking like an app. Important actions should be easy to reach with your thumb, and rarely used controls should not crowd the writing area.

Horizontal flow shows progress

Self Map uses a horizontal board on mobile so the user can move from the past event toward the action. The direction itself helps explain what to write next.
